Every registration behind your writers, in one free catalogue

Save the writers you look after and see, for each one, the works registered to them, how many sit on their main IPI name number, and how many are filed only under another spelling or number. Share it with the people you work with, and download all of it whenever you like.

The works you are not looking at

A registration is a name, not a person. A writer registered with a middle name and without, under a short first name, with a typo, or under a second IPI name number has works under each of those registrations — and nothing in the data says they are the same person. Works filed under a spelling or number nobody on your side tracks are easy to miss in a statement, a claim or a catalogue review, and may not reach the writer at all.

What your catalogue shows

• One row per writer: the person Songlinks groups their registrations into, their total works, the works on their main IPI name number, and the works registered elsewhere.
• A flag where something needs a look: works under another spelling or number, a number that reaches nobody, a number two people share.
• Every registration, one click away. Each writer opens on a page listing every record grouped into them, with the shared works, co-writers and numbers behind each join.
• Read live. The figures come from the registration data each time you open the catalogue, not from a copy frozen on the day you saved the writer.

Built for a team

• Up to 50 writers in a catalogue, and up to 10 teams of your own, one catalogue each — a team per client, per label or per roster.
• Roles: viewer, editor, admin and owner, so the people who read the list are not the people who change it.
• Invite by link. Copy a link and send it however you already talk to your team; Songlinks sends no email on your behalf.
• Export everything. Each catalogue downloads as CSV, and your account page downloads everything the account holds.

Start in three steps

1. Sign in with Google. Your first catalogue is created with your account.
2. Add your writers by IPI name number: paste a list, or save them straight from a writers check. Holding a CWR file? CWR Check validates it and checks its writers against Songlinks.
3. Invite your team, and look first at the writers with works elsewhere.

More than 50 writers?

Good to know

• The groupings are statistical and unverified. A model decides which registrations are one person, and no person has checked its answers. The evidence is shown so you can check the ones that matter.
• The data is a snapshot of public registration data, and the snapshot does not state its own date, so a very recent registration may not be in it yet.
• Songlinks shows registrations; it does not change them. A correction is filed by the writer’s publisher or administrator: how to get works under another spelling or number fixed.
